1.Installation case
- The user wants to back up video footage using a USB memory.
2. Symptom
- Video backup attempted with USB memory, but failed with an error message that it requires spare space of twice larger size of the prepared USB memory
- Example: 150GB required for video back up
- 1st attempt : Tried back up with USB 32GB →Error message ’64GB required’
- 2nd attempt : Tried back up with USB 64GB→Error message ‘128GB required’
- 3rd attempt : Tried back up with USB 128GB →Error message ‘150GB required’ (Correct size displayed)
3. Cause
- It is designed to stop calculating backup size, if the required space exceeds 200% of the available USB memory.
- For large video backups, calculating the required space can take minutes to hours, which may impact the NVR’s performance.
- To maintain system stability and prevent operational delays, the calculation process is terminated early if the required backup size is more than twice the USB capacity.
4. Measures(Troubleshooting Guide)
- When performing video backup using USB memory, prepare a USB device with sufficient capacity to store the entire backup.
- As a best practice, use a USB memory larger than the estimated backup size to avoid repeated errors.
